ന്യൂയോര്‍ക്ക്: ചാന്ദ്ര ദൗത്യം പൂര്‍ത്തിയാക്കി നാസയുടെ ചന്ദ്രപേടകം ഒറൈയോണ്‍ പസഫിക്ക് സമുദ്രത്തില്‍ ഇറങ്ങി.
25 നാള്‍ നീണ്ട യാത്രയ്ക്ക് ശേഷമാണ് ഒറൈയോണ്‍ പേടകം ഇന്ന് ഭൂമിയില്‍ തിരിച്ചെത്തിയത്.
മണിക്കൂറില്‍ നാല്‍പ്പതിനായിരം കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ വേഗതയില്‍ സഞ്ചരിച്ച പേടകത്തെ 32 കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ വേഗതയിലേക്ക് കുറച്ച ശേഷം സുരക്ഷിതമായി ഇറക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.

ഭൗമാന്തരീക്ഷത്തിലേക്ക് അതിവേഗം പ്രവേശിച്ച കാപ്സ്യൂള്‍ പാരച്യൂട്ടുകള്‍ വഴി വേഗത കുറഞ്ഞ് പസഫിക് സമുദ്രത്തില്‍ സുരക്ഷിതമായി പതിച്ചതായി നാസ അറിയിച്ചു. മെക്സിക്കന്‍ ദ്വീപായ ഗ്വാഡലൂപ്പിലെ കടലില്‍ യു.എസ് നേവിയുടെ കപ്പല്‍ പേടകം വീണ്ടെടുക്കും.
